We may arrange visits to local galleries, historic buildings and performances at various theatres. These trips give people a chance to get to know each other better in an informal atmosphere. Although we are restricted by our geographical situation in the south west corner of the country, we may arrange several visits a year, mainly day trips within Cornwall and Devon, but will also consider visits over several days, either to somewhere in Britain or overseas.
Some of the visits are not organised by us, in which case they would be shown as such, for example 'South West Area Event'. The Visits Secretary would be able to provide information to help you, with all events.
Synopsis:
Jamaica Inn, Minack Theatre
A combined theatre & coach trip to The Minack, Porthcurno to see a matinee performance of the Surrey based Guildbury Theatre Company’s production of “Jamaica Inn” - Daphne Du Maurier's iconic novel.
The pick up point for our coach will be ASDA, Penryn and they have kindly agreed that we can leave our cars in their car park free of charge for the duration of our trip.
We suggest that you might like bring a picnic lunch or take a light lunch in the theatre’s café as we will be there well before the performance starts at 2.30pm. We envisage we will arrive back at approx. 6.25pm.
Why so far in advance?
This visit is deliberately being advertised early as only 16 tickets will initially be available. The Minack Theatre rigidly monitor coach sizes and a sixteen seater minibus is the largest they will allow to drop off theatregoers in their car park.
However if demand well exceeds availability (which we imagine it will) providing we act fast it might be possible for more to come, providing of course that further tickets and a suitable sized minibus can be sourced for the same performance .
